The internet is abuzz with rumors that CBS has plans to renew the DC Comics inspired series, “Supergirl.”
Supergirl debuted on Oct. 26, 2015, to 12.96 million total viewers. However, that figure dropped significantly since. The February 29th episode had only 6.69 million.
Despite this, the show is well-received by critics with a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Supergirl” stars Melissa Benoist as Superman’s cousin Kara Zor-El, who, after years of concealing her abilities, decides to assume a costumed identity to protect the people of National City.
The show also stars: Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, David Harewood as Hank Heywood aka Jonn Jonzz and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott.
“Supergirl” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
